Guyse was the Northern California Athletic Conference Champion in the 400 meters in 1987, 1988, and 1989. She also won the conference championships in the 200 meters in 1987, twice named NCAC Track Athlete of the year (1987 and 1988), and was a four-time All-American. She placed second in the 200 meters her senior year at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
