Wiedenmeyer was a four-time NCAA II All-American in singles. He earned All-American recognition in doubles three times. In 1984 and 1985, Wiedenmeyer was named Northern California Athletic Conference Player of the Year. During the 1983 campaign, Wiedenmeyer posted a 22-10 in singles and teamed with fellow Pioneer hall of Famer Jeff Southwick to compile an impressive 28-4 record in doubles play. During his senior season, Wiedenmeyer was 27-8 in singles competition and teamed with Pioneer Athletic Hall of Famer Brian Mehmedbasich for a 24-6 record in doubles.
