Rodrigues is among the very best hitters to ever set foot on the baseball diamond at CSUH. He was a two-time first team All-Far Western Conference selection as a first baseman. Rodrigues led the Pioneers in hitting with a .393 batting average with 31 RBIs in 1974 and a .355 average in 1975 with 12 doubles and 34 runs batted in. He hit for a .407 batting average in conference in 1974. Rodrigues holds the school record for career batting average (.374) and held two other records which were recently broken: highest batting average in a single season (.393) and doubles in a game with three. He ranks fifth in career triples with 5, sixth in stolen bases with 30 and is ninth in runs batted in with 65.
