Kathy Koudela was twice runner-up to U.C. Davis Hall of Famer Patti Gray in the 3000 Meter run during the NCAC Championships. Koudela was the conference record holder in the 5000 Meters with a time of 16:27.85. Koudela is first or second on CSUEB all-time distance event listings (3K thru 10K). She was the runner-up to Gray at the NCAC Cross Country Championships in 1982 and 1983. Koudela is a two-time All-American in track and field as well as cross country. A top 10 finisher in 1982 and ’83, Koudela led the Pioneers to a second place tie at the NCAA Western Regionals and a fourth place showing at the NCAA II Track and Field Nationals. Immediately upon graduation, Koudela recorded a 3:41 marathon time (top 10 U.S. in 1984).
