Cal State East Bay University Athletics

Gabel was instrumental to a pair of Far Western Conference Championships for the Cal State Hayward baseball teams in 1971 and 1972. In two years for the Pioneers, Gabel won 15 games while compiling an excellent earned run average of 2.50. Among the all-time Cal State Hayward pitchers, Gabel is second in complete games, third in earned run average, sixth in victories and innings pitched.
