George Osterberg had an illustrious four-year career for the Cal State Hayward men’s swim team. He was a seven-time Division II All-American, including a pair of third place performances in the 100 and 200 backstroke at the 1981 Championships. Osterberg was named 1981 Far Western Conference Swimmer of the year and held the FWC record in the 100, 200 back and the 400 medley relay. Osterberg was also a solid performer for the Cal State Hayward men’s water polo team from 1977-81 and was twice named All-Conference.
