Cal State East Bay University Athletics

In an amazing Taekwondo record against University competition, Barbara Brand won the California State Championship in her weight category every year from 1981 through 1987, and was second in the National Championships in 1982 and 1984. She also captured the 1984 National Collegiate Taekwondo championship. She accomplished these feats in both categories of the national competition: fighting  (Olympic Teakwondo) and formal performance (similar to compulsory exercise in ice skating). Brand was the founding President of the University Taekwondo Club.
