9-1 season record in 1969 - best record in the 29-year history of the football program; 5-0 Far Western Conference record, best in school history.
Pioneers averaged 32.6 points in FWC play during the 1969 season.
Among the five FWC wins in 1969 was a 49-20 victory over UC Davis.
Team went 7-4 in 1970, which included a 72-0 win over SF State and a 20-6 win over Southern University. On the coaching staff from the season was Pioneer Hall of Famer Don Sawyer.
Included on the 1969 team were Pioneer Hall of Famers: Coaches Les Davis, Joel Grose, Tim Tierney, along with running backs Bernie Oliver and Bert Castelanelli, offensive guard Monty Consani, trainer Don Chu, and team physician Dr. Jack Lutt.
