Join the Pioneer Athletics Department for the 6th annual 5K AT EAST BAY on the beautiful Hayward Campus of Cal State East Bay
May 19th at 8:00 a.m.

RACE INFORMATION

3.1-mile race beginning and ending on the track at Pioneer Stadium
Post-race activities on the soccer field
Dogs and strollers are welcome
Discounted rate are available for CSUEB students!

8:00 AM - 5k (Runners and Walkers)
9:15 AM - Awards Presentation

Awards
Awards will be presented to the top male and female runners,
as well as the the top finishers in each age group.
(15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ )

Parking
Parking is FREE on campus the day of the race. Please park in Lot P, M,
or along the West Loop.

If you wish to avoid the online convenience fee, we suggest registering via email or phone and delivering payment and signed waiver form to the Pioneer Athletics Office.
Checks should be made out to "Cal State East Bay" with "5K Registration" in the memo.

Cost
$20 - Early Registration (deadline May 5)
$25 - Late Registration (May 6-19)
$50 - Team Registration (up to 4 members)
$10 - CSUEB Students (If registering online, must use horizon email)

Cost includes bib number, 5K AT EAST BAY t-shirt, glow sticks, post-race refreshments & snacks, and eligibility to win top-finisher awards.

*RACE-DAY REGISTRATION WILL BE ALLOWED, BUT SHIRT IS NOT GUARANTEED*
 

PACKET PICK-UP

Packets may be picked up on the evening of the race, starting at 6:45 AM at Pioneer Stadium.
Packets include your race bib and a 5K AT EAST BAY t-shirt.

Timing Chips
The 2017 5K AT EAST BAY will be timed using disposable RFID chip technology. Timing chips are adhered directly to the back of your race bib. There is nothing to tie to your shoe or return after the race. After the event, race results will be available at the results table and online.
 

COURSE INFORMATION

The 5K at EAST BAY course spans 3.1 miles around the beautiful CSUEB campus.
The start and finish lines will be at Pioneer Stadium, along with the post-race expo.

Water/Restrooms
There will be one water station at the midway point of the 5K course.
Portable toilets will NOT be available on the course, but restrooms will be open at Pioneer Stadium.

OFFICIAL RULES & REFUND POLICY

Safety Rules
Bicycles, in-line skates, tricycles, and scooters are not permitted on the course. The use of iPods and other devices with earphones are strongly discouraged for your safety (so that you can hear directions from announcers, Police, volunteers, etc).

Unregistered walkers, runners, or pacers are permitted on the race course. However, only participants with a race bib will receive a t-shirt, official time, and access to the post-race activities.

Strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the course and are encouraged to start towards the back for safety. Wheelchairs are also permitted. Racing wheelchairs should notify
the start line official so that they may receive a one-minute lead.

The 5K AT EAST BAY field is limited to 500 participants.
Register early to save money and secure your spot.

Refund Policy
The event will take place rain or shine. All entries are non-refundable and not transferable to another event. No refunds under any circumstances. If you wish to transfer your entry to a friend or family member in the case that you become injured or cannot otherwise attend, you may do so on or before April 22, 2017. There is no fee to transfer to a friend/family member, but your request must be made in writing via email to jose-luis.rayas@csueastbay.edu. No phone, fax, or in-person requests for entry transfers. No transfer requests accepted on the day of the event.

Online Convenience Fee
There is a convenience fee to register online that covers the costs issued by the credit card/online registration company. We work hard to find the best rates to keep the surcharge as low as possible.

If you wish to avoid the surcharge, we suggest registering via email or phone
and delivering payment and signed waiver form to the Pioneer Athletics Office in TR 900.
