HAYWARD, Calif. – Softball sophomore
Ali Cerminara was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Capital One Academic All-District Team, announced on Thursday. She earned the honor in her first year of eligibility after earning a 3.61 grade point average while pursuing her degree in kinesiology at Cal State East Bay.

2015 Academic All-District 8 TeamCerminara has been the team's primary starting catcher since she first put on a Pioneer uniform as a freshman for the 2014 campaign. In 96 games during her two seasons she is a career .337 hitter with 19 home runs and 59 runs batted in.
Cerminara was named the Academic All-District award winner following her sophomore campaign in which she led the Pioneers with her .390 batting average. She finished with 14 doubles, 11 homers, 38 RBI in 48 starts.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Second Team honors in each of her first two years. She opened the 2015 season with a CCAA Player of the Week selection and was part of the weekly awards sweep after senior
Emily Perlich was named CCAA Pitcher of the Week.
In addition to being named an all-conference player as a freshman, she earned CCAA and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Academic Team honors.
