RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Cal State East Bay's
Gabby Gonzalez was named to the Daktronics All-West Region Softball Team, announced on Monday morning. The junior newcomer received a second team selection at designated player after hitting .360 with six home runs and 26 runs batted in.

2015 Daktronics All-West Region Softball TeamGonzalez, a Roseville native and transfer from Sierra College, moved up the lineup during the season and eventually found her niche as the team's leadoff hitter. She recorded a team-best 22-game streak in which she reached base safely, and ranked second on the team with 13 multiple hit games.
After a 4-for-4 day at the plate against Hawaii Pacific during the Tournament of Champions event, Gonzalez maintained a .300-plus batting average which rose to nearly .400 near season's end. She led the team in batting average during league play hitting .358 with five of her six round trippers coming against conference foes.
Cori Reinhardt of Cal State Monterey Bay was named the Player of the Year. Dixie State's Michelle Duncan earned Pitcher of the Year honors.
